10 Months

Our precious boy is 10 months old today.

There are so many exciting things going on in his world.

He just learned how to put his stacking rings on the peg.
It takes A LOT of concentration to do so, and when it's done, we celebrate!

He just got his very first truck and loves driving it around.

Some days Isaac accompanies me while I work at Tom's bike shop....

where he is not supposed to touch the expensive bikes.

On another note, Isaac has started going to a music class each week.
He thinks the instruments are mostly for chewing on.

This is Isaac totally infatuated with Miss Molly, the teacher.
Gettin' his groove on.

How many cheeks?
And one last pic for good measure because who couldn't use more naked baby pictures in their life?

Happy 10 months Love!

To Walk or Not To Walk

Matthew and I have made a bet whether or not Isaac will be walking before he turns one (which is only 2 months away--yikes!).  Matt says he will; I say he won't.  When I tell this to friends who see Isaac on a regular basis, they laugh at me and say I will definitely lose.  So I feel I should explain my stance.  Isaac is so mobile and comfortable crawling that for a while he seemed to show little interest in trying to get around on his feet.  Some other babies his age love to hold on to an adult's fingers and walk with assistance.  Not Isaac.  When I've tried doing this with him, he immediately drops down to his knees and takes off.  Thus, when I made this bet with Matthew, I thought Isaac was going to be happy crawling for a long time.  Now I fear I might be doomed to losing.  Lately Isaac is showing a propensity for moving on his feet. One of his new favorite activities is pushing the kitchen and dining room chairs around the room while walking.  He also has started holding on to our legs and walking forward as we walk backwards.  Looks like Matthew might be enjoying that night out that we wagered.

Just for fun, here's another recent video of the little guy.  See what I mean--see how quick he is crawling?

Baby Bonanza

Since November, I've been meeting weekly with a wonderful group of moms and babies.  The core, consistent group is about 15 moms with babies born between March and December 2011.  Most of us became acquainted through prenatal and mommy-and-me yoga classes, birthing class, and/or work relations.

Thursday morning coffee is a highlight for me each week.  I've loved getting to know the other moms and watching the little ones grow.  Having spent time with all these great moms and babies, I wanted to do something to have a chance to meet all the dads who I knew must be great as well. So Matt and I decided to host a brunch for the families.

In our little house, we had 14 babies and 27 parents!! It was a full house indeed.  The brunch went so well.  I think everyone had a good time, and it was easy to host because everyone chipped in.  Everyone contributed delicious food and willingly brought their own dishes and utensils which made our cleanup a breeze (thanks again ya'll!).  I felt I was truly hosting a legit brunch when 3 airpots of coffee arrived, meaning I didn't have to brew coffee one pot at a time all morning long (THANK YOU Sara!!).

Here are the pictures taken with our camera (you can click on a picture to go to the full album):

I was so astonished at the number of people fitting in my house that I kept trying to capture the essence of the masses in my photos--not sure I succeeded.  Because I was so focused on that,  I didn't take any pictures of the beautiful spread of food--what a shame! It was gorgeous.  The amazing food array included scrumptious muffins, decadent homemade cinnamon rolls, delicious quiches inspired by Chef Matthew, yummy coffee cakes and breads, and over-the-top, Martha Stewart style strawberry shortcake (good work, Kerry!), just to name a few.

Our friends David and Leah got some great shots of the babies.  Here is the link to their pictures:

What a fun, special, memorable morning that was!  Thanks so much for coming everyone. Let's do it again!
