Turkey Bliss

Over Thanksgiving break, our dear friends Valerie and Travis drove all the way out from Oregon to see us.  It was a wonderful visit.  We really enjoyed spending time with them and hosting them in our beautiful Wyoming home!

Isaac was thrilled to have new playmates around.

There was plenty of time for hanging and playing at home.

And there was snow play.

Got the whole place to ourselves!

What a beautiful couple.  And I get some credit for setting up them up--my first attempt ever at matchmaking.  I'll think I'll stop there.

The lovely Valerie and the Wyoming Range mountains.

Sweet pooches.

A little bar fun.

A little instruction goes a long way.

Thanksgiving Day

Holiday indulgence warm-up:  dough ups.

Val's understudy is very curious about the virtues of these dough-ups.

Pre-meal ski so we could eat lots later.

We were fortunate to have beautiful weather for the week.

Preggo on skis.  Somewhere around 34 weeks.

Time to get serious about Thanksgiving:  frying the turkey.

Excitement for the bird grows!

Let's eat!

Thank you soooooo much for coming to visit, Trav and Val!!! We loved having you here and thoroughly enjoyed sharing a low-key, Wyoming Thanksgiving with you. We can't wait to see you again!

I love the sweet sound of Isaac and his friends laughing together!
He always enjoys playing with Charlie and Jack (who didn't make the video).

Oh Christmas Tree

We enjoyed a lovely day out to get our tree.  Temps were in the low 30's, and there was no wind.
That's downright balmy and spectacular!

The tree is decorated and stockings hung.

It feels like Christmas!

Especially when there are the world's sweetest children around to enjoy it!!

Going On An Elk Hunt. He's Not Scared.

Matt is enjoying his first season of elk hunting.  So far he's spent a lot of early, cold mornings hiking around beautiful country.  He has helped his buddies quarter and pack out three elk but hasn't brought one home yet.  I know he will though!

Here's to Matt's success!!

Halloween Biker

Every time we asked Isaac what he wanted to be for Halloween, his eyes would get big, and he'd say, "moootorcyyycle."  I kept waiting for him to change his mind, but he didn't.  I wasn't really up for tackling an actual motorcycle and figured a motorcycle rider would be good enough.  I broke out the sewing machine and fashioned some chaps. I didn't spend too much time on the costume because I knew there was risk he wouldn't even wear it.  Sure enough, he cried when we put him in the jeans with chaps and refused to put on the jacket.  We waited until we got to our first trick-or-treating stop (the PAC) to try to convince him to wear the jacket and doo-rag.  Throughout the evening, he was never enthusiastic about the costume (I think he wondered where the motorcycle was), but he did get into the spirit of trick-or-treating.  He was very excited that he would get to bring candy home.

Doesn't every hard core Harley rider carry a loved stuffed animal?
(not sure what mom is doing in this picture)
